The copper tripeptide GHK-Cu
GHK-Cu is one of the most-studied peptides in the category: in cell culture it stimulates fibroblast synthesis of type I collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycans, and randomized trials of topical formulations recorded improved skin density, elasticity, and reduced wrinkle depth over 8–12 weeks of use. The copper in the compound activates lysyl oxidase (involved in collagen cross-linking) and superoxide dismutase (antioxidant defense) — this is thought to explain part of the observed effects.
